Bundesliga strugglers Eintracht Frankfurt have completed the signing of VfB Stuttgart striker Ioannis Amanatidis for an undisclosed fee.
Streller signing
The Greek international has been out of favour with Stuttgart coach Felix Magath all season. After Stuttgart completed the signing of Swiss international Marco Streller from FC Basel, Amanatidis was told he could leave.
Numerous offers
Despite having had numerous offers from other Bundesliga sides including Hamburger SV, TSV 1860 München and Hannover 96, the 22-year-old decided to accept the offer from Eintracht, who are bottom of the Bundesliga with only 12 points. He has signed a six-month contract, that will be automatically extended for a further year if Eintracht stay up.
'Top of our list'
Eintracht chairman Heribert Bruchhagen said: "He is the player our coach Willi Reimann really wanted and was top of the list. We are sure that he can help us climb up the table and fulfil our goal of avoiding relegation."
