Belgian first division side R. Standard de Liège have signed Uruguayan international Juan Ramon Curbelo on a six-month contract.

Third Uruguayan
The 24-year-old midfield player, who has won seven caps for his country, joins from CA Fenix in his homeland, and will link up with two international team-mates – goalkeeper Fabio Carini and defender Gonzalo Sorondo – at Standard.

Second place
Standard currently lie in second place in the Belgian top flight with 39 points from 18 games so far this season, ten points behind leaders RSC Anderlecht.
