Serie A strugglers Ancona Calcio have signed Brazilian striker Mário Jardel on loan from Premiership club Bolton Wanderers FC with a view to a permanent deal.
Goals record
Jardel, who claimed the ESM Golden Shoe with 42 goals in the 2001/02 season when playing for Sporting Clube de Portugal, can count Grêmio Foot-Ball PA, FC Porto and Galatasaray SK among his former clubs. But the 30-year-old striker failed to score a Premiership goal in seven appearances for Bolton this season.
Sartor arrival
Meanwhile, Ancona have also signed 28-year-old defender Luigi Sartor from AS Roma. Ancona are bottom of Serie A and are yet to win a game in 16 league outings since being promoted last summer.
