Article body
Fulham FC have signed American striker Brian McBride from Major League Soccer side Columbus Crew, as well as confirming the arrival of West Ham United FC defender Ian Pearce on a three-and-a-half year contract.
Everton spell
McBride has agreed a two-and-a-half year contract, subject to a medical and the granting of a work permit. After scoring twice in the United States' run to the 2002 FIFA World Cup quarter-finals, the 31-year-old spent part of last season on loan in England with Everton FC, scoring four times in eight appearances.
'A great talent'
Fulham manager Chris Coleman told the club's website: "Brian is a great talent who can combine assisting attacking play as well as getting his fair share of goals. He has superb aerial ability and has already proved that he can perform each week at the highest level. His experience of the Premiership will also prove a valuable asset to us in the coming months."
