Article body
Hellenic National League leaders Olympiacos CFP bounced back from their defeat by FC PAOK Thessaloniki last week with a resounding 5-0 demolition of Akratitos FC on Sunday.
Late flourish
A Predrag Djordjevic penalty gave the reigning champions the lead in the 37th minute after goalkeeper Dimitris Raptis was sent off for bringing him down. The visitors, however, struggled to capitalise on their numerical advantage and did not double the lead until Marcin Kuzba struck from close range in the 73rd minute. The Polish striker scored again ten minutes from time before Giovanni da Silva and Ieroklis Stoltidis chipped in.
Solitary header
Second-placed Panathinaikos FC remained a point behind thanks to a 1-0 defeat of OFI Crete FC. Giannis Goumas's header in the sixth minute was all that separated the sides. PAOK, in third, managed to hold Egaleo FC, in fifth, to a scoreless draw on their travels.
Creditable win
AEK Athens FC also performed creditably away from home, edging past Ionikos FC 1-0 to go fourth with Giannis Okkas claiming the game's only goal. Iraklis FC, meanwhile, picked up their fifth victory in the past six matches thanks to a 2-0 win against Kallithea FC. Cezare Kuharski and Nikos Machlas were the architects of the victory.
Other games
Elsewhere, Halkidona FC won 2-0 at Paniliakos FC through goals from Christos Mikes and Giorgos Zaharopoulos, Panionios NFC overcame Xanthi FC 1-0 while Proodeftiki FC and FC Aris Thessaloniki drew 0-0.
