Feyenoord have recruited goalkeeper Gábor Babos and assistant coach Zeljko Petrovic for next season.

Feyenoord have recruited a new goalkeeper, Gábor Babos, and assistant manager, Zeljko Petrovic, as well as agreeing a new deal with Patrick Lodewijks.

New goalkeeper
The Rotterdam club, who recently hired Ruud Gullit as their coach for next season, have strengthened their squad ahead of the start of the spring campaign by bringing NAC Breda's Hungarian goalkeeper Babos to the Feijenoord stadium.

Summer arrival
The 29-year-old goalkeeper has penned a four-year contract with his new club, but will not move to Rotterdam until the summer. The former MFC Sopron and MTK Hungária FC goalkeeper is currently recovering from breaking an arm during NAC's UEFA Cup tie against Newcastle United FC.

Lodewijks contract
Meanwhile, Feyenoord's current first-choice goalkeeper, the 36-year-old Lodewijks, has agreed a new deal until the summer of 2005. Lodewijks ousted Edwin Zoetebier from the No1 slot after joining from PSV Eindhoven in the summer of 2002. He may yet be offered another playing contract or a place on the coaching staff when his new contract expires.

Gullit's assistant
Finally, 38-year-old RKC Waalwijk midfield player Petrovic has signed a two-year contract and will begin work as Gullit's assistant next season. The Serbo-Montenegrin is currently coaching the RKC youth team, after a career which has seen him play at FK Buducnost, NK Dinamo Zagreb, Sevilla FC, FC Den Bosch, PSV and Urawa Red Diamonds. He is currently in his second spell with Waalwijk.
