Feyenoord in third
Both PSV and Ajax now have 43 points, albeit the Amsterdam club have played one game less. Feyenoord are third on 34 points after a 2-1 win at NEC Nijmegen.
Comfortable for PSV
PSV were 3-0 up inside 25 minutes against Zwolle, the bottom club, as Jurgen Colin, John de Jong and Jan Vennegoor of Hesselink all found the target. Andre de Ridder pulled a goal back but a second goal for Vennegoor of Hesselink and one for youngster Johan Volanthen in the last 15 minutes completed a comfortable victory.
Buffel secures win
Feyenoord, who fought back from 2-0 down to beat FC Utrecht 3-2 on Sunday, trailed again on Wednesday as NEC's new signing Andrzej Niedzielan scored midway through the first half. Dirk Kuijt equalised two minutes after half-time and Thomas Buffel secured Feyenoord's third away win this season ten minutes later.
AZ drop
AZ Alkmaar dropped to fourth on 33 points after a goalless draw against Willem II and it also finished goalless between FC Twente and SBV Vitesse.
Molenaar winner
RKC Waalwijk ran out 4-0 winners against FC Volendam thanks to second-half goals from Yuri Cornelisse, Said Boutahar, Robert Fuchs and Iwan Redan. Finally, RBC Roosendaal won 1-0 at Utrecht through a late goal from defender Robert Molenaar.
