Cipi exits Eintracht
Eintracht Frankfurt have cancelled the contract of Albania defender Geri Cipi, who will now leave the Bundesliga's bottom club for second division Rot-Weiss Oberhausen. Replacing him is the 23-year-old Brazilian Nascimento, who arrives from FC St. Pauli in a loan deal until the summer. Meanwhile, another Brazilian, Matheus Vivian, has ended his loan stay in Frankfurt and moves to Spanish side UD Las Palmas.
Brugge reward teenager
Club Brugge KV teenager Dieter Van Tornhout has signed a new contract until summer 2007. The 18-year-old has represented Belgium at Under-17, Under-18 and Under-19 levels and made his first-team debut earlier this season as a substitute against R. Excelsior Mouscron.
Modena move
Another teenager putting pen to paper is the 16-year-old Spanish striker Alejandro Sánchez Fernández, who has gone to AC Perugia from Club Atlético de Madrid. Modena FC, meanwhile, have recruited the 20-year-old Czech midfield player David Limbersky from FK Viktoria Plzen.
Duo leave Villarreal
Villarreal CF have sent youngsters Xisco and Héctor Font out on loan to gain first-team experience. Centre-forward Xisco, 17, will spend the rest of the campaign with CD Numancia while Font, a 19-year-old midfield player, has joined Ciudad de Murcia CF until the summer.
Real eye Colombian
Real Sociedad de Fútbol have secured an option to buy Colombian midfield player Avimileth Rivas. The 19-year-old is owned by CA Boca Juniors but plays for Colombian side CD Atlético Nacional and shone for Colombia during last month's FIFA World Youth Championship. He is now expected to move to an as-yet-unconfirmed European club before the transfer window closes, where Real will monitor his progress.
Defensive reinforcement
Turkish Superleague club Elazigspor have completed the signing of Finnish defender Jussi Nuorela from Malmö FF. The 29-year-old, who has signed a one-and-a-half year contract, has won 20 international caps for his country, and links up with fellow arrivals Hüseyin Karakayis, Ziya Sahin and Ahmet Arslaner at his new club.
Blackburn boost
In England, Blackburn Rovers FC have signed Michael Gray from Sunderland AFC, agreeing a two-and-a-half year contract with the former England international. The
29-year-old left-back spent four months on loan at Scottish Premier League side Celtic FC earlier this season.
DBU losses
Finally, the Danish Football Association (DBU) has announced a €1.54m loss for the 12 months running up to 31 October last year. The DBU was expecting to record a deficit, albeit not on this scale. However, it expects to make a profit during the coming year with income from UEFA EURO 2004™ and a new deal with Danish television station TV2 to broadcast all Denmark's home internationals.
