Sole charge
One of England's brightest managers, the 46-year-old has committed himself to the London club until 30 June 2007. Curbishley has been in charge of Charlton since 1993, initially in tandem with Steve Gritt before taking sole control in 1995. He has twice led the Addicks to promotion to the Premiership, in 1998 and 2000.
'Totally content'
"I would not have signed this new contract if I didn't feel totally content," Curbishley told the club's official website. "The club has continued to move forward, both on and off the field. When this season began, I felt we had come far enough that we could realistically talk about becoming a top ten club - if we did, then a European place would not be far away. So far we have managed to fulfil that expectation."
Losing streak
Charlton are now one of the most watchable teams in the Premiership and are a point off fourth place and UEFA Champions League qualification after 25 games. However, they have lost three matches in succession since reluctantly selling Scott Parker to Chelsea FC for €14.6m.
Coffers boosted
The Valley club have also received €1.2m after former player Jermain Defoe was sold by West Ham United FC to Tottenham Hotspur FC for €10.2m.
