Alexander Stankov has resigned as coach of PFC CSKA Sofia only ten days before the restart of the Bulgarian Premier League season.

Stankov only began his third spell in charge of the reigning champions three months ago but has now left with the club second behind PFC Lokomotiv Plovdiv, "I have made my decision," he said. "I have talked with the club chiefs and I will not change my mind. I hope the club retain the league title."
January signings
CSKA strengthened during the January transfer window with the addition of midfield players Amiran Mujiri and Emil Petkov, as well as striker Stoiko Sakaliev. They trail Lokomotiv by two points.
