Lengthy career
The 43-year-old Adelaar will leave his current club, De Graafschap, to take over at Den Haag. Adelar previously coached Akratitos FC in Greece and FC Utrecht, the club he represented as a player between 1979 and 1990.
Looking forward
"I will be working at a club with fantastic supporters," he said. "In the past, ADO Den Haag was a respected Eredivisie club, with the new stadium those times can be revived. I look forward to the challenge."
'Experience and knowledge'
Den Haag general manager Robert Langenbach said: "We are very satisfied that we have reached an agreement with Adelaar. We expect Frans to lead the club forward with his experience and knowledge." Den Haag are 15th in the 18-team Dutch top flight.
