Former Adanaspor AS coach Yilmaz Vural has been named as the new man in charge of Rizespor following the resignation of Hikmet Karaman yesterday.
Temporary appointment
The 51-year-old coach has agreed to work with the team until the end of the season and will be assisted by Erdogan Yilmaz, Mehmet Demirtas and Nurettin Yilmaz, with whom he previously worked at Adanaspor. Rizespor are currently 15th in the 18-team Turkish top flight.
'Quality team'
"We will continue from where Karaman left off," Vural said. "Rizepor fans have expectations. Everybody is aware of the team's quality and now we are travelling to the club in order to save this team by using our experience."
Stress reducer
Rizespor general manager Yilmaz Zehiroglu said the team would be boosted by Vural's arrival. “Our team were inconsistent,” he said. "Thanks to the excitable nature of our new coach our players will lose their stress. Yilmaz Vural's personality is obvious. Our squad is strong too. We will hopefully end this bad run and climb in the standings. We will make every effort in order to entertain Rizespor fans with our football."
