Lobello targets safety

Frenchman René Lobello has been appointed coach of Swiss Football League side Neuchâtel Xamax FC.

Safety aim
The 45-year-old has signed a contract until the end of the season and his aim is to lead Xamax, currently bottom of the table with 16 points, to safety. He replaces Claude Ryf who was sacked on Monday.

Former jobs
Lobello's most recent coaching post was in Tunisia, where he was an assistant coach with Etoile Sportive du Sahel, a position he has also held at FC Sochaux Montbéliard and FC Metz in his homeland. Lobello took charge of Xamx's training at the Maladière for the first time on Tuesday.
