Fenerbahçe ride their luck

Members

Fenerbahçe SK, Trabzonspor and Istanbulspor AS have joined Gençlerbirligi SK in the Turkish Cup semi-finals.

The hard way
They did it the hard way, coming back to win after twice falling behind. Sener Askaroglu gave the home side the lead after 22 minutes and after Selçuk Sahin's 40th-minute equaliser for Fenerbahçe, Saffet Akyüz restored Rizespor's lead.

Second equaliser
However, Fabio Luciano drew Fenerbahçe level again with five minutes remaining and the visitors did not let the initiative slip a second time, Serhiy Rebrov and Tuncay Sanli scoring in extra time to complete the victory.

Trabzonspor win
Trabzonspor also came from behind to beat Konyaspor 2-1. Trailing to a 70th-minute penalty from Cenk Isler, Volkan Bekiroglu equalised in added time and Mehmet Yilmaz completed the turnaround after 98 minutes.

Penalty shoot-out
Istanbulspor AS beat Gaziantepspor 5-4 on penalties after a goalless draw in Wednesday's other match. Twenty-four hours earlier, Gençlerbirligi SK had become the first team into the last four after beating Denizlispor 2-0 at the 19 Mayis stadium in Ankara.

Unhappy night
Serkan Balci and Veysel Cihan scored the goals in the first half and Denizlispor's unhappy night only got worse when defender Serhat Gülpinar and coach Giray Bulak were both sent off in the second half.
