Former Portuguese international striker Jorge Cadete has signed for Partick Thistle FC.
Out of retirement
The 35-year-old has come out of retirement to sign a one-month deal at the Scottish Premier League club after quitting football in 2002. He was last seen appearing on a Portuguese reality television show.
Magnificent season
Cadete had enjoyed a magnificent season in Scotland with Celtic FC, scoring 32 goals in the 1996/97 season after joining the Glasgow club from Sporting Clube de Portugal. He is set to play his first game for his new club against Celtic on Sunday.
Mental tiredness
The striker moved from Celtic to RC Celta de Vigo in the 1997/98 season after complaining that he was suffering from mental tiredness, and subsequently returned to Portuguese football. He also had a short spell at English side Bradford City FC.
New role for Prosinečki
Meanwhile, another veteran, former Croatian international Robert Prosinečki, has taken up the post of sporting director with NK Zagreb. The 35-year-old former Real Madrid CF midfield player will combine his new role with playing duties at the club. "I will continue to play football for NK Zagreb, but after the season ends I will discuss my role at the club with the board," he said.
