Swiss coach Daniel Jeandupeux has agreed a one-year contract extension with the Ligue 1's bottom club, Le Mans UC 72.

Tied to the club
Whether they are relegated or not, Jeandupeux is now tied to the club until June 2005. The 55-year-old, who previously led FC Zürich to the Swiss league title, joined Le Mans on 10 February after Thierry Goudet was dismissed. "I enjoy Le Mans and the situation is clearer," he said of the new deal.

'One more year'
Although Jeandupeux has overseen four losses and three draws in seven games, chairman Henri Legarda said: "He deserves one more year. He's planning on a long-term basis." Le Mans were promoted at the end of last season for the first time in their history but they are currently seven points from safety.
