Article summary
VfL Bochum 1848 have signed the experienced Slovenian international defender Aleksander Knavs.
Article body
Long-term deal
The 28-year-old has agreed a three-year contract and will move clubs in the summer. This season, Knavs has made 19 appearances for Kaiserslautern, who unlike high-flying Bochum are battling relegation at the wrong end of the table.
European ambition
Knavs is a highly experienced international, having represented his country at UEFA EURO 2000™ and the 2002 FIFA World Cup although he was unable to help Slovenia qualify for this summer's UEFA European Championship in Portugal. He will, however, hope to play for Bochum in next season's UEFA Cup, with his new team well placed in fifth, just four points off fourth position.
