Feyenoord facing Pardo problem

Feyenoord will be without attacking midfield player Sebastián Pardo for at least a month after a training ground accident on Thursday.

Ankle injury
Pardo was involved in a collision with the Dutch club's defender Patrick Paauwe, although he resumed after a short break with seemingly nothing more than a cut in his leg. The injury deteriorated after training, which led to the player being sent to hospital on Friday afternoon, where is was revealed Pardo is suffering from a heavy ankle injury.

Swelling problem
The left ankle has been put in plaster. "That is to stop the swelling," said Feyenoord club doctor Robbart van Linschoten, who added that the swelling has made it impossible to assess the damage to the ankle ligament. However, Van Linschoten believes the 22-year-old will be sidelined for at least four weeks.
