Fine increased
The Giallorossi - third in Serie A - will play the matches against AC Chievo Verona and Empoli FC at a neutral venue and have already announced that they will face Chievo on 10 April at US Città di Palermo's Renzo Barbera stadium in Sicily. Following an appeal against their initial sanctions, Roma also had their fine increased from €3,000 to €10,000. The derby against Lazio will be replayed on 14 April.

Birindelli signs on
Staying in Italy, right-back Alessandro Birindelli has become the fourth Juventus FC player to sign a new contract in the past eight days, following the example set by Ciro Ferrara, Gianluca Zambrotta and Alessio Tacchinardi. The 29-year-old Italian international, who joined the Bianconeri in 1997 from Empoli FC, has agreed terms until 2007.

Jestrovic boost
In Belgium, RSC Anderlecht have announced the extension of Nenad Jestrovic's contract. The Serbia and Montenegro striker, whose contract was due to expire in the summer of 2005, has signed up for two more seasons until 2007. The 27-year-old has been with Anderlecht since 2001, and has just returned form a knee ligament injury which has kept him sidelined for most of the season.

Davies earns extension
Bolton Wanderers FC striker Kevin Davies has agreed a one-year contract extension, which will keep him at the Premiership club until 2005. Davies agreed a short-term deal with Bolton at the start of the season after leaving Southampton FC and his performances have proved impressive enough to persuade manager Sam Allardyce to extend the deal.

Daelemans deal
Belgian striker Björn Daelemans has extended his contract at RBC Roosendaal for two more years until the summer of 2006. The 26-year-old has been with the Eredivisie side since 2001, during which time he has played 76 matches, scoring nine goals.

Valencia departure
AFC Ajax
will allow defender José Valencia to join NEC Nijmegen at the end of the season. The 22-year-old Ecuadorian's current contract with the Dutch champions was due to expire on 30 June 2005, but Ajax have agreed to release Valencia a year early by mutual consent. Valencia has signed a one-year contract with NEC. Valencia signed for Ajax in July 2000 and enjoyed much success with the club's youth team.
