FK Modrica will meet FK Borac Banjaluka in their first-ever Bosnia-Herzegovnian Cup final in Sarajevo on 26 May after both sides saw off second division hopefuls in the semi-finals.
'Not only luck'
Modrica, newcomers to the Premijer liga this season, already led FK Drinovce 1-0 from the first leg and Zoran Novakovic ensured a 2-0 aggregate victory in the return. "My players have surprised all football lovers in Bosnia-Herzegovina," said Modrica coach Mitar Lukic. "But on the pitch we have shown that this was not only luck." Victory next month would see Modrica qualify for Europe for the first time.
Borax through
Meanwhile, Borac played out a goalless draw against FK Slavija to progress 1-0 on aggregate. Borac won the Yugoslavian Cup in 1987/88 and later triumphed on two occasions in the former knockout competition for sides in the Serbian section of Bosnia-Herzegovina.
