FC Torpedo Moskva went top of the Russian Premier League on goal difference on Sunday following a 2-1 victory against FC Spartak Moskva.
Torpedo top
Torpedo are on 12 points after six games – the same amount as second-placed FC Zenit St. Peterburg – and had a Sergei Budylin penalty in the sixth minute and an Aleksandr Panov goal at the death to thank for the win as Mihailo Pjanovic's leveller just before half-time proved not quite enough for the visitors. Zenit, meanwhile, overcame FC Amkar Perm 2-0 with Andrei Arshavin and Olexsandr Spivak both on target.
Loko win
FC Lokomotiv Moskva brought an end to a four-match winless run with a 2-1 defeat of FC Saturn Moskovskaya Oblast on Saturday. The encounter remained goalless until Dmitri Loskov's pass in the 73rd minute paved the way for Dmitri Sytchev to open the scoring. Ruslan Pimenov doubled the lead late on, although Nikita Bazhenov halved the deficit moments later.
On track
Dmitri Kirichenko, Rolan Gusev and Sergei Semak were all on the scoresheet as PFC CSKA Moskva appear to have finally consigned an unconvincing start to the season to the past courtesy of to a 3-1 defeat of FC Kuban Krasnodar. Sergei Vinogradov was also in the goals, collecting two as FC Krylya Sovetov outclassed FC Rubin Kazan 3-1.
Late leveller
Bottom club FC Rostov avoided defeat against FC Torpedo-Metallurg Moskva by virtue of a last-gasp equaliser from Mario Perez in a 2-2 draw while in other games Anton Khazov's strike handed FC Shinnik Yaroslavl a 1-0 win against FC Dinamo Moskva. Finally, FC Alania Vladikavkaz overcame FC Rotor Volgograd 1-0.
