Parma pull plug on Juve

Igor Tudor's last-gasp strike may have rescued a draw for Juventus FC at Parma AC on Sunday, but the Turin club's failure to win means they have all but lost any hope of retaining their Serie A title. Marcello Lippi's side now sit 12 points adrift of leaders AC Milan with just four matches remaining and have won just twice in their last eight games in all competitions.

Tudor alert
It seemed Juventus were heading for their sixth league defeat of the season until the Croatian pounced to slot the injury-time leveller after Fabrizio Miccoli's shot had hit the crossbar. Benito Carbone had put Parma into a 34th-minute lead and although Marco Di Vaio equalised 15 minutes from time, Alberto Gilardino's 18th goal of the season moments later looked to have given the home side victory.

Inter rampant
Tudor's goal meant Parma slipped to fifth position in the table, surrendering the fourth UEFA Champions League qualification slot to FC Internazionale, who defeated Bologna FC 4-2 at the San Siro. Goals from Alvaro Recoba, Fabio Cannavaro, Dejan Stankovic and Obafemi Martins secured the Milan side all three points, Claudio Bellucci grabbing two second-half strikes for the visitors.

Totti heroics
Second-placed AS Roma travelled to lowly Modena FC in the late game on Sunday and struggled to force many openings. Francesco Totti finally broke the deadlock nine minutes after half-time to ease Roma's nerves and the visitors held on to win. The capital club are nine points behind leaders AC Milan with a game in hand - the rearranged Rome derby - and face Carlo Ancelotti's side on 2 May.

Couto double
Earlier in the day, S.S. Lazio came from behind for a 4-2 win against relegated Ancona Calcio with Portuguese defender Fernando Couto twice on target. Visiting AC Perugia were edged nearer relegation after losing 3-2 to Sampdoria UC, for whom Francesco Flachi scored twice.

Missed penalty
Sunday's other games both ended in stalemates, AC Chievo Verona's home match with Reggina Calcio finishing goalless and Empoli FC making hard work of a 1-1 draw against Brescia Calcio. Fabrizio Ficini put Empoli behind by scoring an own goal and Ighli Vannucchi missed a 45th-minute penalty for the home side before Mirco Gasparetto found a 73rd-minute equaliser.
