Nigerian striker Victor Agali has been sacked after missing three training sessions at FC Schalke 04.

Lost patience
The Ruhr valley side have lost patience with the striker after he failed to turn up for training three times without an excuse and have terminated his contract, which was due to expire in the summer.

Never again
General manager Andreas Müller told the club's official website: "Agali received a caution, because he missed three rehabilitation session without excuse. From now on he is released from training and matches. He will definitely not play for Schalke any more."

Cup winner
Agali had played 12 games for Schalke this season scoring three goals but he had recently lost his place in the first team and was playing as a substitute and for Schalke's third-division reserve side. The 25-year-old joined Schalke from FC Hansa Rostock in 2001, and scored 14 goals in 54 games for the club. He was a member of the team that won the German Cup in 2002, scoring as his side overcame Bayer 04 Leverkusen 4-2 in the final.
