Dinamo decide to set Susak free

Members

Georgian champions FC Dinamo Tbilisi have released Croatian coach Ivo Susak from his contract.

Championship won
The 57-year-old Croatian led the club to last season's Georgian Premier League title and victory in the Commonwealth Cup in January of this year. In addition, he was also in charge of the Georgian national side for the majority of their UEFA EURO 2004™ qualifying campaign, guiding them to a famous 1-0 win against neighbours Russia in the process, but subsequently left to concentrate on Dinamo.

'Change is needed'
Dinamo are in second place in the championship play-off pool, three points behind league leaders FC Sioni Bolnisi. "We've discussed the situation at the club and decided that a change of coach is needed," said chairman David Petriashvili. Gia Geguchadze, who coached Dinamo's reserve team, will take over as caretaker.
