The home victory enabled the new champions to open up a five-point lead over closest challengers PFC Levski Sofia with just one match of the Bulgarian Premier League season remaining.
Decisive penalty
Early goals from top scorer Martin Kamburov and Boban Jancevski gave Lokomotiv the initiative. Although Kiril Dzhorov and Chavdar Yankov brought the visitors level, substitute Neshko Milovanovic scored the title-winning goal from the penalty spot with 12 minutes left to play.
Levski lift
Levski moved up to second place thanks to a 2-0 home victory against PFC Spartak Varna, while champions PFC CSKA Sofia dropped to third following a 3-0 defeat at PFC Cherno More Varna.
