Mid-table doldrums
The defeat by the league leaders kept Naftex firmly in mid-table but gave Loko Plovdiv a five-point advantage in the Premier League with two games remaining. Team manager Aleksi Zhelyazkov will take charge at Naftex until the end of the season.
European hopes dashed
Former Bulgaria coach Dimitrov, who won the league with PFC Litex Lovech in 1998 and led PFC Levski Sofia to the double in 2000, returned to Naftex last summer after leaving Loko Plovdiv. Naftex's hopes of qualifying for the UEFA Cup ended when they lost in the Bulgarian Cup quarter-finals in March.
