Seven-a-side
The Heden football field - close to the walkway from the city centre to the Ullevi stadium where the final will be played - is staging a seven-a-side football tournament for youngsters over the next couple of days, featuring more then 40 teams, with the final on Wednesday afternoon. The competition is being organised by members of IFK Göteborg in conjunction with the Swedish Football Association and UEFA, and participants are being provided with UEFA T-shirts and other souvenirs.
Fair play ceremony
In addition, around 90 children are expected to take part in a fair play ceremony on the pitch in the Ullevi stadium just prior to the final. Grassroots events have become an integral part of activities surrounding major UEFA club finals, and a Starball tournament is scheduled to take place before next week's UEFA Champions League final between FC Porto and AS Monaco FC in Gelsenkirchen.
