The 46-year-old will replace Aleksandr Pobegalov, who was sacked ten days ago after Shinnik’s exit from the Russian Cup at the semi-final stage. Shinnik have played two games since then, a 2-0 defeat by FC Torpedo Moskva and a 1-1 draw with PFC CSKA Moskva.
Experience is key
Dolmatov, who won 14 caps for the Soviet Union as a player, is an experienced coach having worked at several clubs including CSKA, FC Kuban Krasnoda, FC Chernomorets Krasnodarskiy Kray and FC Dinamo St. Peterburg. His most recent position was with Ukrainian side FC Vorskla Poltava in 2003.
