Ioannis Amanatidis has joined 1. FC Kaiserslautern from relegated Eintracht Frankfurt.
Relegation release
The 22-year-old Greek international striker has agreed a two-year contract with his new club after his contract with Eintracht became invalid. He was under contract with the Frankfurt club until 2005 but his contract was only valid as long as the club remained in the top flight.
Second arrival
Having signed for Eintracht in the winter, Amanatidis had scored six goals in 15 games. He becomes Kaiserslautern's second signing in the space of 24 hours after the arrival of former German international midfield player Christian Nerlinger from Rangers FC yesterday.
Three-year contract
Nerlinger, 30, joined on a three-year contract after leaving Rangers on a free transfer. He played more than 200 times in the Bundesliga for FC Bayern München and BV Borussia Dortmund prior to leaving for Scotland, and Kaiserslautern coach Kurt Jara said: "If he performs like he used to do, he will be a reinforcement."
