Strong message in Moldova

The two teams in the Moldovan Cup final joined to spread the word that racism has no place in football.

Players unite
The game, attended by over 6,000 fans, saw the two strongest teams in the country, FC Sheriff Tiraspol and CFS Zimbru Chisinau, show that racism has no place in the game by joining together to parade a banner before the crowd.

'Gugutsa' festival
To mark Children's International Day on 1 June 2004, the Football Association of Moldova organised its national 'Gugutsa' football festival open to children aged between five and nine years of age. The festival was held in accordance with the UEFA 'Unite Against Racism' programme.

Balls and T-shirts
More than 150 children and 30 coaches from all regions of Moldova participated in the event. All the children received a ball and every coach received a T-shirt with UEFA's anti-racism message. Go to http://www.fmf.md/news_en.htm for further details.
