Single relegation spot
As a result of the league expansion, only one team will be relegated at the end of the current season while the top three Second Division sides will win automatic promotion.
Foreign player limit
The Polish Football Federation (PZPN) has also ruled that First and Second Division clubs can sign as many foreign players (non-EU citizens) as they want, but only a limited number can play in each domestic league and Cup game from the start of the 2004/05 season.
EU passport holders
Each First Division side will be allowed to field five foreign players while Second Division teams will be limited to three. Players who hold an EU passport are not considered foreigners.
PZPN to review
The PZPN, however, may introduce new changes regarding foreign players at the start of the 2006/07 season.
