Coimbra disappointment
The Portuguese side, who finished ninth in the SuperLiga last season, have agreed a one-year contract with Oliveira. The coach has been out of work since January after parting company with Acádemica after just five months in charge following a string of poor results.
Growing club
Oliveira is delighted with his appointment. "Moreirense is a growing club," he said at the official announcement. "It's a club for the future and I'm very proud to be here. I think that the club has been making wonderful progress in strengthening the squad, so I'll have little to do in that area."
Machado on the move
The job at Moreirense was vacated by Machado who is joining Vitória SC, following the path of former Moreirense chairman Vítor Magalhães who was elected club president there on Monday.
