One-year deal
González will join the club once he has finished duties with Cádiz CF, whose Segunda División campaign has not yet ended. At 37, he will be the youngest coach in the Spanish Primera División. The two parties have agreed a one-year deal which runs until 30 June 2005. The coach announced that he would be bringing Alfonso Cortijo as his assistant and Jorge Amar as physical trainer.
Praise for predecessor
González praised his predecessor, saying: "It's a nice feeling to come to a club following in the footsteps of a good coach. The players that have worked under Ferrando know what they are doing and what is expected of them. I am thrilled to be able to take on this job, working in the top league is Spain will be an experience that surpasses all my aspirations."
New signing
Albacete, who finished 14th last season, will also unveil their first signing of the summer on Friday. The 25-year-old midfield player Jordi Ferrón Forné has agreed a two-year contract and will join from Real Zaragoza.
