Consortium takes over
Preston, formerly a coach at the club, has succeeded Davie Hay whose contract expired on Monday. He has been selected by the Lionheart consortium, who took the club over today with a view to leading the Scottish League Cup holders out of administration.
Squad rebuilding
However, the 34-year-old Preston currently has just four players under contract. Irish businessman Pearse Flynn, leader of the Lionheart consortium, said: "Our absolute priority will be to ensure that Allan Preston and his management team can start planning properly for the new season."
New chairman
Dr Tony Kinder will assume the role as interim chairman until full management control is handed over from administrators Kroll. Vivien Kyles becomes the club's general manager - the first female to assume such a position in the Scottish top flight.
