Injured German international striker Benjamin Lauth has signed for Hamburger SV from TSV 1860 München.

Four-year contract
The 22-year-old striker agreed a four-year contract with Hamburg on Thursday and will partner newly-signed Belgian international Emile Mpenza in the upcoming season. "We are happy to have signed one of the brightest young strikers in German football," said Hamburg sporting director Dietmar Beiersdorfer.

Lauth 'happy'
Lauth, who was set to play both in the UEFA European Under-21 Championship and at UEFA EURO 2004™ before breaking his foot, said: "I am happy that we have reached an agreement. Hamburg are a big club in the Bundesliga and I am looking forward to the challenge."
