Serie A side AC Siena have appointed Luigi Simoni as their new coach after parting company with Giovanni Papadopulo at the end of last month.
Siena survive
The current SSC Napoli coach will be presented at his new club immediately after his present employers' final Serie B game of the season. Siena managed to avoid relegation in their first ever season in the top flight.
Distinguished career
Simoni agreed a one-year contract with an option for the following season. During his 30-year career he has also coached Genoa 1893, US Cremonese, Piacenza FC and FC Internazionale in Serie A and had a brief spell in Bulgaria with PFC CSKA Sofia. With Inter he won the UEFA Cup in 1997/98.
