Thomas Riedl will be staying at 1. FC Kaiserslautern after agreeing a new two-year contract until 2006. The 27 year-old was a key figure in Kaiserlautern's successful fight against relegation last season and was happy to remain at the club where he won the Bundesliga title in 1998 and to which he returned in 2001 after a spell at TSV 1860 München.

Staying in Germany, Hannover 96 have handed left-back Markus Schinner a two-year contract. The 23-year-old impressed for their reserve team in the German fourth division last term and coach Ewald Lienen hopes he can help fill the gap left by Markus Schuler's departure to DSC Arminia Bielefeld.

Auzbuike 'Bike' Oliseh has extended his contract with RBC Roosendaal by 12 months until July 2005. The 25-year-old Nigerian defender has been with RBC since summer 2002 and according to the club's technical manager, Rob Meppelink, "was partly responsible for the fact we got so few goals against us last season".
