Article body
Inverness Caledonian Thistle FC will play in the Scottish Premier League (SPL) for the first time in their history next season, meaning relegation for Partick Thistle FC.
Aberdeen groundshare
The team from the north of Scotland won the 2003/04 first division, but their promotion was initially blocked due to ground-grading requirements. However, Heart of Midlothian FC and Hibernian FC forced a second vote on the grounds that the clubs had received unclear advice in making their original decision, and a proposal for Inverness to share with Aberdeen FC was accepted by SPL clubs, who have also changed the entry criteria.
Capacity reduction
"The figures were ten in favour of the Hibs-Hearts resolution and two against," said SPL executive chairman Lex Gold. "We have also voted through the reduction from 10,000 seats to 6,000 and, in future, decisions of this kind will be decided by the board of the SPL so we have taken some huge steps forward."
Injunction rejected
Last season's bottom club Partick will make way, having attempted to block the second ballot only for their application to be rejected on Tuesday morning at the Court of Session.
