Article body
Romanian First Division side FCM Bacau are looking for a new coach after the resignation of Ioan Lupescu. The former Romanian international stepped down today after only six months at the club and Cristian Popovici will take over on a temporary basis.
'Mutual consent'
Lupescu, who guided the club away from relegation last season, said: "The decision was taken by mutual consent because my strategy does not fit with the financial potential of the club." Lupescu becomes the fourth coach in the Romanian top flight to leave his post since the end of the season.
Sechelariu conundrum
There is also uncertainty surrounding Bacau's honorary president Dumitru Sechelariu, who may leave the club after being defeated in the local elections. The Bacau mayor has supported the club financially for the past ten years.
