RC Lens striker Dagui Bakari's loan move to RC Strasbourg has hit a hitch.

'I just want to play'
The 29-year-old Ivorian was set to move on a one-year deal but said that a "last-minute disagreement" has scuppered the move. The striker has had a disappointing two seasons at Lens, scoring just six goals in 49 games, and was used frequently as a substitute last season.

Tremmel deal
Hertha BSC Berlin have snapped up goalkeeper Gerhard Tremmel from fellow Bundesliga club Hannover 96. The 25-year-old has agreed a one-year deal, with the option of a further two years. He has been brought in to replace the Hungarian Gabor Király, who left Hertha at the end of last season, but is likely to be second choice behind Christian Fiedler at Hertha.

Afriyie Esbjerg-bound
Former German Under-21 international Kolja Afriyie has joined last season's third-placed Superliga club Esbjerg fB on a three-year contract from first division AC Horsens, who just missed out on promotion last season. "Esbjerg have many young players and a coach, who dares to base his team around them," said the 22-year-old, in reference to Ove Pedersen.

Yanagisawa loan
Serie A newcomers Messina FC have bolstered their squad with the capture of UC Sampdoria's Japanese striker Atsushi Yanagisawa on loan. The 27-year-old, who scored for Japan against Italy in a 1-1 friendly draw three years ago, made just two league starts for Sampdoria last season.

Cziommer extension
Bundesliga club FC Schalke 04 have agreed to let 23-year-old Simon Cziommer remain on loan at FC Twente for a full season after the midfield player scored three goals in 13 games for the Dutch side following an initial loan move during the winter break.

Weevers aim
Elsewhere in the Netherlands, RKC Waalwijk have signed 25-year-old goalkeeper Jurgen Weevers from De Graafschap. He has signed a one-year contract with an option for two more years and will have to displace Khalid Sinouh if he wants the No1 jersey.

Australian import
Feyenoord have secured the signature of Australian youth international striker Alex Brosque on a one-year deal with the option of a two-year extension. The 20-year-old striker is, however, set to begin his European career with Feyenoord's partner club KVC Westerlo.

Young Finn moves
Meanwhile, Willem II have signed Finnish youth international Marco Kolsi. The 19-year-old attacking midfield player has signed a contract that runs until summer 2008. He arrives on a free transfer after the bankruptcy of his previous club FC Jokerit.

Tippeligaen transfers
Jamaican international left-back Garfield Reid has joined Norwegian Tippeligaen side Ham-Kam Fotball on loan for the rest of the season from Jamaican side Rivoli United FC. Meanwhile, Molde FK have sold Swedish centre-half David Ljung to Helsingborgs IF

Moroccan purchase
Finally, RBC Roosendaal have signed Adan Farouk. The 18-year-old Moroccan defender has agreed a one-year contract and has represented his country at U19 level.
