Maltese Premier League side Msida St. Joseph FC have appointed Mario Petrone as their new coach.
One-year contract
The 31-year-old Italian has signed a one-year deal with the club, and leaves Italian Serie C side US Tempio to take up the post. His appointment follows the election of another Italian, Roberto Goveani – formerly chairman of Torino Calcio – who was unanimously voted the club’s chairman on Sunday.
Top-six aim
"My main priority for next season will be that of establishing a top-six final placing for Msida St. Joseph," Petrone told uefa.com. "The new strategy put into plan by the club's new chairman Roberto Goveani will consolidate the administrative and technical aspects of the club over a period of four years. I will also have to evaluate the possibility of strengthening of my squad for the coming term, possibly with one or two Italian signings."
