Charlton snare Rommedahl

Charlton Athletic FC have signed PSV Eindhoven's Danish international winger Dennis Rommedahl in a €2.9m deal.

"I wanted to try something new and I've always liked the way they play football in England," the 25-year-old told Charlton's official website. "I spent eight years with PSV playing the same kind of football every week and playing against the same teams every season, so I needed some fresh air. I watched some of Charlton's games on television last year and saw that they wanted to play good football."

Quarter-final run
Rommedahl featured for Denmark at UEFA EURO 2004™, helping his country reach the quarter-finals. Charlton have also signed Birmingham City FC midfield player Bryan Hughes on a three-year deal. The 28-year-old arrives on a free transfer.
