Zenit pounce on Torpedo slip

Members

FC Torpedo Moskva's Russian Premier League lead over FC Zenit St. Peterburg has been cut to one point.

Late winner
Nikita Bazhenov took just seven minutes to give Saturn the lead, but Igor Lebedenko levelled just before the half-hour mark. However, Bazhenov scored again a little over ten minutes from the end and held on to move up into sixth place.

Zemit joy
Zenit took full advantage of the leaders' slip by beating FC Alania Vladikavkaz 3-2 thanks to Lukás Hartig's last-minute winner. Olexsandr Spivak opened the scoring for Zenit with a fourth-minute penalty but Georgi Bazaev equalised from the spot soon after. Martin Horák restored Zenit's lead on 42 minutes but within seconds Bazaev had levelled again, though his team were unable to respond to the home side's third goal.

Derby drama
The game of the day was the capital derby between FC Dinamo Moskva and FC Lokomotiv Moskva. Dinamo shot into a 2-0 half-time lead through Stanislav Murygin and Stanislav Vlcek, but Lokomotiv hit back after the break with goals from Vadim Evseev, Dmitri Sychev and Winston Parks to take the lead. Sychev completed a 4-2 win late on, leaving Lokomotiv in fourth.

CSKA slip
FC Krylya Sovetov Samara remain third and are now within three points of Torpedo after beating FC Rostov 2-1, but champions PFC CSKA Moskva missed their chance to close the gap as they slipped to a 2-1 defeat at FC Rubin Kazan.

Rotor adrift
At the bottom, SC Rotor Volgograd are now seven points adrift after a 2-1 loss at FC Shinnik Yaroslavl. FC Kuban Krasnodar edged away from Rotor as they drew 1-1 with fellow strugglers FC Spartak Moskva, and FC Moskva are down to 14th after losing 1-0 at FC Amkar Perm.
