Mjällby makes Levante move

Primera División newcomers UD Levante have signed Swedish international Johan Mjällby from Celtic FC.

Successful spell
The 33-year-old defender has spent six seasons with Celtic, winning three Scottish Premier League titles and two Scottish Cups. The former AIK Solna player missed much of last season though, with persistent knee troubles limiting him to just eleven league appearances.

Fresh challenge
Mjällby joins Levante as they prepare for their first season in the Spanish top-flight since 1963/64 after winning the Segunda División. "I hope that with my experience I can help Levante have a good season," he said. "The Spanish Primera División is very strong and joining Levante will be a good way for me to experience a fresh situation."
