News round-up: Striker Lomana LuaLua and defender David Unsworth have joined Portsmouth FC.

Portsmouth FC

Two down, one to go
LuaLua, a Congolese international, joins in a €2.6m deal from Newcastle United FC, following a successful loan spell at Fratton Park last season. Unsworth, meanwhile, arrives on a free transfer having been released by Everton FC. Portsmouth are also close to landing striker Ricardo Fuller from first division Preston North End FC.

Villa loan star
Staying in England, Aston Villa FC have signed striker Carlton Cole on a season-long loan from Chelsea FC. The 20-year-old spent last term on loan at another Premiership club, Charlton Athletic FC.

Palace trio
Meanwhile, Crystal Palace FC have confirmed three new arrivals as they prepare for their first Premiership season since 1998. The London club have recruited the 25-year-old Argentinian goalkeeper Julian Speroni from Dundee FC, as well as defenders Mark Hudson and Emmerson Boyce. Hudson, who had a loan spell at the club last season, joins from Fulham FC, while Boyce leaves Luton Town FC for Selhurst Park.

Strasbourg move
French side RC Strasbourg have signed striker Mickaël Pagis on a two-year contract from FC Sochaux-Montbéliard. Strasbourg have reportedly paid €500,000 for the 30-year-old, to make him their fifth summer buy after goalkeepers Rémy Vercourtre and Stéphane Cassard, and defenders Arthur Boka and Karim Hagui.

Brazil blend
Belgium's KFC Germinal Beerschot Antwerpen have added a fifth Brazilian player to their squad in midfielder Felipe Alves de Souza. The 22-year-old has arrived from CR Vasco da Gama on a one-year contract.

Friends reunited
Israeli international forward Pini Balili has joined Turkish Superleague newcomers Keisarispor on a two-year deal. Balili scored ten goals for Istanbulspor AS last season but will link up with his former Hapoel Tel-Aviv FC team-mate Salim Tuamah at his new club.
