Scottish international Charlie Miller has left Dundee United FC to join Norwegian side SK Brann on a free transfer.

Winter link
The 28-year-old midfield player was out of contract and has agreed an 18-month deal at Brann with the option for a further season. Capped once by Scotland in 2001, Miller will link up with compatriot Robbie Winter, who has himself signed a contract extension keeping him at Brann until the end of the 2007 season.

Sliema silverware
Maltese champions Sliema Wanderers FC have picked up their first trophy of 2004/05 while not even in action. Last season's double-winners claimed the Euro Challenge Cup competed for by Malta's three European entrants after a 1-1 draw between UEFA Cup participants Birkirkara FC and Marsaxlokk FC. On Monday Sliema had achieved a 1-1 result against Birkirkara and two days later beat Marsaxlokk 3-2 meaning that the Friday draw ensured their triumph.

Coach 'very pleased'
Sliema coach Edward Aquilina, whose side face FBK Kaunas in the UEFA Champions League first qualifying round first leg on Tuesday, told uefa.com: "I am very pleased with this first honour of the season. After just 16 full training sessions, there is every reason to be pleased."

Klimek back in Poland
Wisla Plock have taken 29-year-old Polish striker Arkadiusz Klimek back to his homeland after signing him on a free transfer from Greek side Panionios NFC. The forward, who spent 12 months in Greece, has signed a two-year contract. The club have also signed midfield player Patryk Rachwal but lost 30-year-old defender Bartosz Jurkowski on a free transfer to GKS Górnik Leczna, where he has a two-year deal.

Heinze loan
Elsewhere, in Denmark 21-year-old Esbjerg fB midfield player Martin Heinze is joining first division AC Horsens on a one-year loan deal.

Hudson transfer
English Premiership newcomers Crystal Palace FC have signed 22-year-old defender Mark Hudson from Fulham FC for an undisclosed fee. Hudson spent much of last season on loan at Palace. Meanwhile, Fulham have moved back to their historic Craven Cottage stadium, playing a friendly against Watford FC.
