Blatnjak winner
Dragan Blatnjak scored the only goal of Saturday night's match, which was played at Hajduk's Poljud stadium. The Bosnia-Herzegovnian international struck after 49 minutes, after Dinamo defender Mario Lucic had failed to cut out Petar Šuto's cross.
Pralija denied
Hajduk could have been in front sooner but Hrvoje Vejic and Almir Turkovic both headed wide from first-half corners and youngster Petar Šuto also missed a couple of opportunities. Then, leading 1-0, Nenad Pralija could have made the game safe but was denied by Dinamo goalkeeper Ivan Turnina before the visitors threatened a goal themselves in the closing stages.
Close calls
Dario Zahora fired two free-kicks wide and was also close with a header, and Andre Mijatovic sent a header off target. The Croatian league season opens next weekend.
