The 28-year-old midfielder, who penned a three-year contract after joining from AC Ajaccio in May, sustained the injury in Friday's training session and underwent surgery later the same day. Regragui had appeared in Wednesday's 4-0 friendly win against Real Sporting de Gijón.

Racing, who finished last season in 17th place, begin their league campaign on 29 August with a home game against FC Barcelona at El Sardinero.
