The 31-year-old former Paris Saint-Germain FC captain was hurt preparing for his team's 3-0 home win against Lille OSC on Sunday, which took Marseille top of the table. A scan showed that Déhu had damaged a muscle, and he is unlikely to return to fitness before the trip to FC Sochaux-Montbéliard on 11 September.
'Serious blow'
"It's a serious blow," said Marseille coach José Anigo, who has been forced to rearrange his three-man defence. Brahim Hemdani will probably continue in a central role alongside Habib Beye and Abdoulaye Meite. Marseille, last season's UEFA Cup runners-up, lead Ligue 1 on goal difference after winning their first two games.
