The 34-year-old, who was released by PSV Eindhoven at the end of last season, completed his medical yesterday and will be available for the Premiership game against Charlton Athletic FC on Saturday. Waterreus played 285 matches for PSV and was a member of the Netherlands squad at UEFA EURO 2004™.
Injury jinx
He will provide vital cover for City's No1 David James, following injuries to reserve custodian Nicky Weaver and his replacement Geert De Vlieger. Weaver had knee surgery last December and will be sidelined for several months yet, while De Vlieger is out for the season with a torn achilles tendon.
